Spring, Summer or Fall... great on a trip

Scottevest SeV Transformer Jacket

Scottevest SeV Transformer Jacket

I have 3 of these jackets for different occasions.

All three will keep all my gadgets in their rightful place and always know that I have everything.

I love being able to grab my jacket and be ready for anything. When the day brightens up a bit, just take off the sleeves, and breakout your sunglasses from their dedicated pocket.

Clearly I recommend the jacket since I own 3 variations but the Transformer is perfect when I travel. I just got back from a flight from Boston to Chicago... Security was a breeze since I only had my jacket and one carry-on. Instead of clearing out my pockets and stashing items into my bag, I just slipped off the jacket, placed it in a bin and walked right through. On the plane I had the sleeves off since I tend to run a little warm. Once off the plane, put the sleeves back on and was ready for walking in the beautiful fall weather. Need space for a water bottle, plane ticket, ID, sun glasses, extra hat, gloves, scarf, phone, headphones, your Transformer sleeves, whatever... you've got the room to spare.

I have:
The Revolution for rainy weather or as my outer layer in winter
The Fleece 5.0 for fall or just lazing around the house in winter.
The Transformer jacket for Spring/Summer with it's lightweight feel and quick-to-remove sleeves

  1. This jacket really delivers. The pockets are just amazing, of course but that's not really what's most impressive. This is a high quality piece of outer wear, from the sturdy zipper toggles to the included glasses chamois. The sleeves really do come off easily and fit well into the the pocket made for them. It fits my Nook Glowworm easily in the "iPad pocket." I'm also able to fit a full 40 oz.water bottle into the hand warmer pocket because the top of them is up around the NECK. That's just freakishly awesome. The magnets and sleeves are just beyond words.

So, cons, yes cons. The fit is small and completely inflexible. I'm a big guy and I'm oddly shaped; so this presents a bit of problem. Nevertheless, I would recommend you order a size up if you are on the line. Another con is that the sleeves are unlined. Now in a windbreaker, this isn't a big deal but don't expect this to be your all weather jacket, either. The final one is that there are no instructions on which pocket the sleeves go in. Now this seems minor but with all these pockets it was hard to figure out. I finally watched all the SeV videos and in one Scott points to the pocket and EUREKA that's where it is. I had been putting my flat caps in there.

All in all, this is an outstanding product that I really like. If I could afford it and I was sized for it I would wear nothing but SeV clothing.

  2. Having to commute 2 hours everyday means that I have to carry a backpack to contain all my stuff. With Scottevest I now leave my backpack at home and have everything I need in my jacket.

    Typically I carry:
    Smartphone
    Blackberry
    iPad
    Wallet
    Spare charger and cable
    Penknife
    Pen
    Inflatable pillow
    Book
    ID cards
    Business cards
    Sunglasses

Peakhour travel involves squeezing in and out of packed trains and buses. Being able to carry all of this without the need for a backpack has transformed my journey.

  3. I saw this jacket on the Today show about a year ago and immediately ordered one. I'm retired and my wife and I travel frequently. Security is a breeze. With all the pockets I can stash all my stuff and just put the jacket in the x-ray bin. When you arrive at your destination and are sight seeing the jacket relieves me of carrying a small backpack. A small umbrella and water bottles fit inside. I wear the jacket on the shoulder season. Its just the right weight and looks great. You really can't tell the pockets are full.

  5. Just returned from a European trip on which my Transformer Jacket was fantastic. With zippered compartments I never worried about the security of my money, passport, or iphone. I encountered a range of weather, hot, cold, and rain. The jacket handled all three. Removable sleeves were great during hot, rain was not a problem. I did have to layer for the cold, but I was ready. I would definatly recommend this jacket for travel.
